Spring Newsletter 2010 Dear Parents/Students: Pre-Registration 2010 – 2011: June 1 – 26th 2010 Pre-registration for the 2010-2011 dance season. A tentative schedule for the new season will be available at that time. By pre-registering you will be saving the $25.00 September registration fee. There will be a deposit of $50.00 per subject or $150.00 for full-time students required upon registration. Fall classes will commence on Saturday September 11, 2010 for the new season. If any parent is interested in information regarding “Competitions” next year, please speak to Miss Beth. Recital: Show line up is now posted at the studio 3 Shows: Friday, June 18th 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 19th 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Recital tickets: Reserved seating tickets will be available for sale on Monday May 25th for the year-end recital being held at the Oshawa Little Theatre 62 Russett Ave. Oshawa. Tickets are $17.00 each. Please check the show order posted in the waiting room to see when your daughter/son will be dancing. Each class will be dancing in 2 of the 3 performances. Anyone viewing the show must have purchased a ticket. Due to fire regulations, a child 2 years of age or younger only may sit on a parents lap. Dress Rehearsals – Oshawa Little Theatre Will be held on June 16th and/or 17th at the Oshawa Little Theatre. A timetable for the dress rehearsals will be forthcoming. There is a $5.00 charge at the door to observe the dress rehearsal (there will be no charge for performers to view the dress rehearsal). Photos: Photos of both individuals and groups will be taken at the dress rehearsals. Classes will be taken to the beige room after performing for their photos. Parents please wait in the lobby and the students will be brought to you there. These pictures will be available for purchase during the 3 shows at the recital. A special note: Parents only have to purchase tickets for one of the shows. MOM’S (sorry, No Men are allowed in the changeroom area) can wait in the changeroom during the other show and when their child has finished they can then take them home. We do have parent volunteers, however we could always use more help. If you are available please let the office staff know. Costumes are arriving daily. Each teacher will give each class a special note regarding hair, make-up, tights, shoes etc. required for their dance at both rehearsal and recital. At the Recital food, drinks, snacks and flowers will be sold by the Competitive Parents Fund-raising Committee. Food and drinks are allowed in the beige room only. Water is allowed in the change rooms. Cameras and Video recording: Cameras and Video recording will be allowed at the DRESS REHEARSAL ONLY in the Theatre . DRC Video Productions will be video recording all three shows at the recital. We have order forms at the office. The cost is $45.00 + GST and PST = $50.85. You can order the video’s at the recital, on line or by mail. Summer Programs: Miss Wendy will be holding Ballet classes in August there will be a sign-up sheet posted in the studio waiting room. Fees will depend on enrollment. Miss Kerry, Miss Wendy, Miss Alison and Miss Becky will be starting solo’s during the summer months, please speak to Miss Beth to arrange a schedule. Summer Camp: 3 & 4 yrs – Rec Camp 9am – 11am $60. + tax 5 yrs and up – Rec Camp 9am – 2pm $150. +tax (1/2hr lunch break) High Energy Camp 9 yrs and up 9am -2pm $150. + tax (1/2hr lunch break) *2nd child in the family will be ½ price! Summer Camp dates: July 26-30 and August 23-27 Please register prior to June 26/10 Competition: Congratulations to all our competitive dancers for a very successful season. We would like to thank you all for your continued support of Traditions Academy of Dance and look forward to another very exciting new season of dance in the fall. ****Please note: there will be dance classes at the studio during the week following the recital June 21 to 26 Please join us for some dance, some fun, hot dogs and other treats.
