 Miss Alison
 Alison Grebenc:  B.A (Hon.); A.I.S.T.D.; R.A.D.   R.T.S

 

Miss Alison has been dancing since age 4.  As a student she has studied Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) Ballet and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.) Modern Theatre, Tap & Jazz.  She has also studied Lyrical and Musical Theatre.

In Secondary School she studied dance for 5 years as part of a performing Arts Program.  She was an award winning original member of the internationally competitive In-Ta Kids dance troupe.

 

After Secondary School, Miss Alison studied Ballet under Nadia Potts at Ryerson University (Toronto).  Following that, she earned an Honours Degree in Fine Arts as a Dance Major from York University (Toronto).  She has also studied dance in England with the I.S.T.D.

 

Miss Alison earned Associate certification in Modern Theatre & Tap with the ISTD & also an Associate Diploma in Modern Theatre with the ISTD.  She is also a Certified RAD Ballet teacher.  She has entered students for exams for R.A.D. Ballet & I.S.T.D. Modern Theatre, Tap & Jazz for over 10 years.

 

Her experience includes more than 15 years of teaching for The Studio of Dance and Performing Arts (Whitby), Steps Ahead Dance Centre (Cobourg) and the Lindsay Dance Studio (Lindsay).  She also taught in the Dance Program at Seneca College (Toronto) and at Paul Dwyer Secondary School (Oshawa) in their performing Arts Program.

 

She has taken Master classes with such notables as: Mia Michaels (Internationally recognized choreographer – So You Think You Can Dance); Janice Barringer (New York City Ballet Company); Gus Giordano (‘Grandfather’ of American Jazz – choreographer for the White House shows, the Academy Awards & founder of the Chicago Jazz Congress); Charles Kelly (well known NYC choreographer, author of The American Tap Dictionary & Principal of the D.E.A. Teacher Training Program); A.J. Rousseau (Tap Dogs).

 

As a performer she has had roles in the musicals Grease and The Boyfriend, as well as many industrial promotional shows and dance demonstrations.

 

As a Choreographer her work includes several community theatre musicals and has been twice nominated for T.H.E.A. awards for best choreography for a musical for Nunsense and Nunsense II.   Miss Alison is a Platinum award winning choreographer.

 Miss Becky

Becky Regan

Miss Becky trained extensively in ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz, tap, and musical theatre. She started competing at the age of 10 with The Studio of Dance and Performing Arts. As a competitive student she went to national finals competitions in Florida and Las Vegas where she won both Gold and Platinum medals. Miss Becky was offered a scholarship for an intensive week-long workshop in Las Vegas in 2000 with Dance Educators of America.  She was invited to be a part of the “2003 extreme team” through the Footloose Dance Competition.  She performed as the opening act for the Neutron Fitness competition in Ottawa, Ont. which was broadcast on TSN.  She earned a Highly Commended status on her Royal Academy of Dance Intermediate Ballet exam in 2003. Miss Becky is currently enrolled in the Certification in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance. She recently earned her Associate Diploma with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Miss Becky is a platinum award winning choreographer.

 Miss Lindsay

 

Lindsay Storms

Lindsay began her dancing career at the age of 3 in Toronto, where she had the opportunity to study under Cynthia Fisher ARAD, dual examiner for the R.A.D. Lindsay moved to the Kawartha area at the age of 13, where she continued her studies in R.A.D. Ballet, I.S.T.D Modern, and Jazz under Miss. Alison and Stephanie Mackey, at the Lindsay Dance Studio. After 3 years of study at Trent University, Lindsay returned to LDS, to pursue her I.S.T.D Associates for Modern and Jazz. Lindsay has since also acquired her R.A.D. Intermediate ballet.  Lindsay has most recently received her Associate Diploma status with the I.S.T.D.

Over the years, Lindsay has had the wonderful opportunity to teach for several studios across Ontario, both competitive and non-competitively, and is thrilled to be part of the Traditions Dance Academy, once again. Lindsay continues her passion for learning by taking courses with world renowned examiners and choreographers covering other various dance disciplines such as hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary.
 Miss Kerry

Kerry Brough

Miss Kerry is currently a member of CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) & she is a graduate of the National Institute of Broadcasting.  She is the head of the dance program at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School in Oshawa & has also taught the dance program at Seneca College in the past.

She has also choreographed a stage production of James Bond for the CBC.  She is known for her tapping ability & she has had her tap sounds recorded as an instrument for a Cinemaface CD.  She has also recently had a tap duet represented at the World Tap Championships in Germany rank 11th in the world.  She is a Platinum award winning choreographer!

Miss Kerry has had dancers perform at the Neutron Fitness Championship & she has received recognition for her choreography for her stage production of South Pacific.  She has even done a few voice-over commercials.

Miss Kerry is the co-founder of “Dance For It” a unique show that combines both professional & amateur dancers in a joint effort to raise awareness & funding for cancer research.  Miss Kerry is also the co-creator of “Kidzforit…Live” a new television show to feature the many talents of younger performers.

 Miss Wendy

Wendy Holt Dip.R.B.S (T.T.C), A.R.A.D., A.I.S.T.D.

Miss Wendy trained at the Royal Ballet School in London, England.  She holds the Royal Ballet School Teaching Diploma, Registered Teacher and Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance and attained Advanced 2 Ballet in R.A.D., I.S.T.D., and Cecchetti Syllabi.  Also holds Associates in Cecchetti Ballet and National Dance, Advanced 2  I.S.T.D Modern and National and the Benesh Notation Teaching Diploma. Former Artistic Director of the Ontario School of Ballet.  Miss Wendy is a Grades Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance and also Mentor for the CBTS Teacher Training program for the Royal Academy of Dance.  Miss Wendy has danced and taught internationally in Europe and Canada and currently teaches at Traditions Academy of Dance in Whitby, Ontario. Some of her past students are currently dancing with the Greek National Ballet, on Broadway and also with The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet. Miss Wendy has considerable choreographic experience and has won many awards for her work in Canada, the U.S.A and in England. Miss Wendy is a Platinum award winning choreographer.  She enjoys teaching students of all levels and abilities and tries to bring out the dancer in everyone!

 Mr "H"

Mr. ‘H.’ received his formal dance training through the I.S.T.D. (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Modern Theatre, Tap and Jazz syllabi.  He has also taken Master classes with such notables as: Mia Michaels (Internationally recognized choreographer – So You Think You Can Dance); Gus Giordano (‘Grandfather’ of American Jazz – choreographer for the White House shows, the Academy Awards and founder of the Chicago Jazz Congress); Charles Kelly (well known NYC choreographer, author of The American Tap Dictionary & Principal of the D.E.A. Teacher Training Program); A.J. Rousseau (Tap Dogs).

Mr. ‘H’ has been a dance instructor for over 20 years and during that time was the competition coach for The In-Ta Kids – an international dance competition troupe.  As a Choreographer he has choreographed several community theatre musicals & along with his daughter has been twice nominated for T.H.E.A. awards for best choreography for a musical. His performing experience includes parts in the Musicals: “The Boy Friend” and “Chess”; and a small part in the movie “Hoover vs. The Kennedys”; He has performed in several trade and marketing shows. Currently, Mr. ‘H’ is a Director & the Canadian Vice-President of Dance Educators of America – Canada – the prestigious dance teacher organization.
